Yesterday we went to one of our most favorite Kennebunkport restaurants, The Ramp. It never fails to deliver a delicious meal and their menu offers something for everyone. The Ramp is pub like and sits right on the water so you get a good view of Cape Porpoise and all of the lobster boats coming in and out. Erin and I ordered the house salad and the special, steak chili with a cheese and guacamole quesadilla on the side. As you can see below, I only snapped a photo of our dessert because well, thats the most important part! It’s a blueberry crumble type concoction and it was amazing. We are also repeat patrons of their newest restaurant, Pedro’s located close to Bufflehead Cove in Lower Village Kennebunk.

October snow, leaf color and green trees… a mixed bag
We have had an odd fall, late leaf color, unexpected snow, highs of 80 degrees in early October and leaves sticking to trees right into November. Here are some photos taken in early November by our guest Kathy Fink. Thanks Kathy.
Good Morning Waffles!
The other morning, Aunt Helena (our other extremely talented breakfast cook) whipped up some AMAZING buttermilk waffles! She served them with fresh blueberries and strawberries as well as homemade whipped cream. She also made a banana blueberry smoothie and sliced cantaloupe with lime juice as a starter. I was the breakfast waitress of the day and every plate I took out to the porch came back to the kitchen completely licked clean, no joke! All of our guests raved about this sweet, yummy breakfast. Compliments to the chef! Not to mention it was a beautiful morning on the river. I snapped a photo of a family visiting from England, aren’t they cute, and another close up of Helena’s creation
Good News & Bad News
Which do you want first? Well, I’ll start with the bad news, because it’s always best to end with the good, right? The bad news is that we will no longer be supplying wine at our afternoon wine and cheese hour (due to Maine state laws and regulations). The good news, is that starting next season we will be offering a small wine list. That means our guests will be able to choose the wine they want and purchase it by the bottle. This is where we need help. If any of you have any wine recommendations we would love to hear them! Not to worry though, a yummy beverage will still be supplied at wine and cheese. Erin has been creating some very delicious lemonades and non-alcoholic sangrias lately.
Another Beautiful Day
It’s another beautiful day on the river here at Bufflehead Cove. It’s the perfect day to go kayaking or have lunch on the porch. Let’s keep our fingers crossed in hopes that the rest of the summer is filled with days like today!

Come Find Happiness in Maine
USA Today did an article on 10 of the best places to find happiness, and guess who topped the list? Yep, our very own state of Maine! We share this list with places like Bali and Hawaii just to name a few. The writer said that the list includes “places where there’s fulfillment, good food and enough of it, good weather, families intact, and a sense that they don’t have a desire to look for something elsewhere,”. I know I’d like to visit several of the places that share this honor with us! Check out the article here!
