I wanted to post an update to my original post for Erin’s new fishing charter business and let everyone know that they are catching fish! Go Erin! Here are a few photos of some happy fisherman/women. Tidewater Fishing Charters is based out of the Yachtsman so give Erin a call if your interested in going out.
Erin just finished bottling the honey from our bees and it is out in the gift shop available for purchase! Yum! Also, we now have an official wine list featuring a small selection of reds, whites and sparkling wines. If you are booked to stay with us this season, or looking to book, make sure you check out the gift shops new additions.
This year we decided to give the Garden Room a little facelift and we thought we’d give you a sneak peak! We haven’t updated the photos on the website just yet so hopefully any of you already booked in the Garden Room won’t be too surprised when you walk in and it’s completely different. We hope all of you love it!
This bright and beautiful shop is one of the best places to get special gifts and all things home decor! The lovely ladies that own this shop have an eye for style and have put this space together wonderfully. From the large selection of AMAZING pillows and bedding, to delicate votives to special baby gifts, Spaces Kennebunkport is a one stop shop. Having dinner at a friends house? Spaces has an array of budget friendly hostess gifts! If you are in the area, don’t forget to visit this special shop. It is on Ocean Avenue, outside of the main square of Kennebunkport but this area does not lack charm, it is a must see! You can’t miss Spaces, the windows are eye catching and full of things you will want to own!!
Day Trip Society is one of those places you have to visit to truly appreciate. It is one of my most favorite shops in Kennebunkport. Every time I walk in I think to myself, “I’d like one of everything please.” If you haven’t visited Day Trip yet, it’s time! They also opened up another shop called Day Trip Jr. just around the corner that caters to the much younger crowd. Day Trip has so many beautiful, funky and unique things for every budget. Day Trip Jr. is AWESOME for the kiddos. They even have a working antique electric whale that the kids can ride! Below are a few items (among a hundred others) that caught my eye this trip. I actually just visited them and got our little guy these shoes.
We have some great news! Not only will Erin be running the inn with Harriet this summer, he will also be doing fishing charters and scenic cruises on his new boat! Please call Erin at 207.590.6635 or visit the Tidewater Fishing Charters site for more information. We are in the process of setting up a site dedicated to the scenic cruises but in the meantime Erin can answer any questions you might have. We hope you check out his new venture and if you are interested please give us a call and book a spot.
Join us and seven other inns that make up the Historic Inns of Kennebunkport for a lovely event on June 9th, 2012 from 3-6pm. Guests of each inn will get the opportunity to visit fellow historic inns and meet their innkeepers. You will also enjoy wine, tea and hors d’oeuvres along with provided transportation between inns. The Garden Party is in conjunction with the Kennebunkport Festival so book now because rooms are going fast! We hope to see you there! For more information visit our Garden Party page.
Yesterday we went to one of our most favorite Kennebunkport restaurants, The Ramp. It never fails to deliver a delicious meal and their menu offers something for everyone. The Ramp is pub like and sits right on the water so you get a good view of Cape Porpoise and all of the lobster boats coming in and out. Erin and I ordered the house salad and the special, steak chili with a cheese and guacamole quesadilla on the side. As you can see below, I only snapped a photo of our dessert because well, thats the most important part! It’s a blueberry crumble type concoction and it was amazing. We are also repeat patrons of their newest restaurant, Pedro’s located close to Bufflehead Cove in Lower Village Kennebunk.
From June 23rd through July 14th, the Kenneth Roberts Estate will be open to the public! A number of designers will be involved in remaking the design of the estate for your enjoyment. This is a must see, so check it out on your visit! For more information visit their website here.
